Hello Bobcat families! My name is Valerie Flippen, and I am a 4th grade teacher here at Barkers Mill Elementary School. I am going into my 10th year of teaching! All 10 years have been in 4th grade! I am so excited to kick off this year as a self-contained teacher, teaching all subjects to your sweet kiddos. I am a Clarksville native, attended Barksdale Elementary School, Rossview Middle and High School, and Austin Peay State University for both my Bachelor of Science and Masters of Arts in Teaching degrees. I am married to my wonderful husband, we have a 6 year old son, and 2 dogs.

I believe all students can learn and that it is my job to figure out how they learn best, which is a job I do not take lightly. In my classroom, we work hard, love hard, and try hard. We do not give up, and we do not say "can't". I will do anything in my power to help your child grow and learn. This, however, is a team effort, and I look forward to working alongside you in helping your child this year!
